"People & Principles First: Civic Virtue Works."
As a state and a nation, we have lost our focus. A democracy is created from the voice of the people. If we have stopped listening to each other, we cannot be united. Until we reestablish our respect for one another, even those whose ideologies we may disagree with, we will have a hard time being unified. Without unity, eventually democracy dies. As a history teacher I know democracies can, and have, died. It is not fiction. It can happen here. To us. It is also up to us, We the People, to fix it.
We fix our unity by fixing us. We have to have the hope that we can, through our united collective and individual efforts, restore something bigger and better than ourselves. We have to recognize that it will require sacrifice - of our pride and our need to be right at all costs, and it will cost us in time and maybe money too. It can't be about yourself anymore, it has to be about all of us.
How? It all comes down to Civic Virtue. We sacrifice in some way, expecting nothing in return, for the good of humanity and others. We put people before party allegience. We do what is right over what is convenient or self-gratifying or what will line our pockets. Yeah, it's hard and it only works if enough of us do it but the thing is - it can work. It will work. We can't become better without having to actually do something to make us better. These acts of sacrifice and love will refine us and give us new eyes. We will see our commonalities over our differences. We will lift. We will guide. We will show love. It can happen.
Please, spend some time on this site. Learn what Civic Virtue is. Imagine a world where everyone practiced it. Remind yourself of our founding documents and the role of respect and honor within them. Learn, through the Quick Vids tabs, thing you may have forgotten. Come and participate with a Civic Virtue Event. Use the helps for you tab to find what will actually help you, personally. Please, please, share this site. My goal with this campaign is to help people remember who we all are and the power we have when we work unitedly together for the good of all. I have tried to provide all I could to help make it as easy as possible, but ultimately it is up to each of us to do what we know we have to do. Thank you for reading. I hope you will spend some time here and join with me as we push for united greatness by changing ourselves for the better.

Democracies are healthier when we are not just left and right. We can work together when we realize how much we have in common and focus there instead of on extreme beliefs. See yourself as an AMERICAN first.
